Together
for a Better Tomorrow

“There can be no greater gift than that of giving one’s time and energy to help others without expecting anything in return.”

Together for a Better Tomorrow

Welcome to a place born from mission experience – from simple conversations under the Tanzanian sky, and from a calling of the heart. Ubuntu Foundation is an international community of people joining hands with local communities in Tanzania to build a future rooted in hope.

We don’t arrive with ready-made solutions. We come with presence, respect, and a willingness to listen. Because we believe true change happens in relationship – not from above, but side by side.

Ubuntu is a Tanzanian international NGO dedicated to sustainable development and social change where it’s needed most. We support education, health, women’s rights, environmental protection, and grassroots initiatives through direct collaboration with local communities.

Our strength lies in combining local solutions with global support – working with people, not for them.

Creating Lasting Impact

ABOUT US

We serve children, youth, women, and marginalized individuals across both urban and rural Tanzania, always partnering with local leaders and organizations.

Ubuntu Foundation was born out of a deeply personal mission – a journey through Tanzania, its rhythm, its beauty, its people. It was never a project. It was an encounter. And from that encounter came a dream: to return – not alone, but with a team that believes in walking with humility, heart, and hands.

Today, we are an international collective – people from Tanzania, Poland, the UK – united by one purpose: to create space for growth and dignity for children, youth, and families.

We don’t come to “help.” We come to be present. Attentive. Willing to share life together. Rooted in the spirit of Ubuntu – “I am because we are” – we create lasting impact through dignity, collaboration, and grassroots solutions powered by global support.

Serving People

WHAT WE DO

Ubuntu is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) registered in Tanzania. We work in close partnership with Tanzanian communities to implement projects that support sustainable development and improve quality of life.

Our main areas of activity include:

  • education,
  • health promotion,
  • women’s empowerment,
  • environmental protection, and
  • community activation through sports and physical activity.

One of our newest initiatives is the creation of the first Nordic Walking team in Tanzania – a unique program that promotes health, social inclusion, and the empowerment of women through movement, community, and shared purpose.

We empower local communities through collective action, creating lasting and equitable solutions that enable children, young people and families to build a dignified, safe and healthy life.

We act locally while thinking globally – supporting development with respect for tradition, the environment and diversity.

At Ubuntu Foundation, our mission is dedicated to serving people in vulnerable situations, particularly:

  • children and youth with limited access to education,
  • women seeking opportunities for personal and economic growth,
  • individuals facing poverty, social exclusion, or health disparities,
  • and local leaders and changemakers who are committed to building stronger communities.

Early Childhood Education

Every child deserves to dream – but they need tools to do so. We create learning-friendly environments, support local teachers, and provide supplies, books, and encouragement.

Children learn to read, write, count – and believe in themselves. Because one letter in a notebook can be the first step to a new reality.

Skills Training & Youth Empowerment

Young people want to work. They want to choose their future. We offer training in sewing, carpentry, farming, and entrepreneurship.

We support women who want to become self-reliant. We don’t offer charity – we create opportunities.

Health & Hygiene Awareness

It’s not just about seeing a doctor – it’s about knowledge and awareness. We teach basic hygiene, body care, and cleanliness at home and in the village.

We empower girls and women to understand their bodies, menstruation, dignity, and the right to care for themselves. Because health is not a luxury. It’s a foundation.

Ecology & Environment

Tanzanian soil is rich and beautiful – but often at risk. We teach children to plant trees, introduce simple eco-practices – recycling, composting, reducing plastic use.

We want the next generation to grow up with respect for the earth. Because caring for the planet is caring for those just beginning their lives on it.

Dignity & Equality

Support for People with Albinism

In Tanzania, people with albinism face exclusion and violence. We offer protection – sunscreen, clothing, medical and emotional support.

We remind them they are seen, valued, and loved – exactly as they are. Because dignity is a right – not a privilege.

Living Together

Get Involved

Our mission is to build a better tomorrow by responding directly to local needs with practical, grassroots solutions. As an internationally connected NGO with local roots, we are able to access global funding and development resources to strengthen local initiatives.

We work with Tanzanians, not for them – creating long-term impact through collaboration, dignity, and sustainable change. It doesn’t take wealth to change the world – it takes heart. You can support in many ways:

  • Donate – one-time or monthly giving
  • Educational Sponsorship – support a specific child
  • Volunteer – travel with us or help remotely
  • Share – spread the word, talk about us, pray with us

Ubuntu lives when we live it together.
